Newnex and XIMEA Announce USB 3.0 camera and cable Interoperability

Santa Clara, CA, USA - February 20, 2014

Newnex Technology Corp. and XIMEA GmbH have jointly announced product interoperability between Newnex’s USB 3.0 connectivity solutions and XIMEA USB 3.0 cameras.

Newnex did the compatibility test to inform users of interoperability between Newnex solutions and XIMEA cameras. The XIMEA USB 3.0 cameras have proven to be highly compatible as they worked reliably with all Newnex passive cables up to 5m, active cables up to 12m, and our USB 3.0 optical extension solution up to 100m.

All Newnex solutions have USB3 Vision compliant locking, making them compatible with XIMEA cameras to give a secure locking connection, which is important for machine vision.

All testing was done for period lengths over 24 hours at various modes of operation and with high data rates. Testing resulted in zero errors during the entire testing time. Having error free transmission and avoiding loss of frames is critical for machine vision applications. Newnex USB 3.0 machine vision cables and repeaters are testproven to be working together with XIMEA cameras flawlessly.

+ FireNEX-5000: USB 3.0 Optical Repeater up to 100m, with locking screws

Testing setup: Windows 7 - 64bits with Intel H77 Chipset CPU: i5-3450 and a SIIG DP SuperSpeed USB 2-port PCIe with Renansas Chipset Driver version: 2.0.30.0 PCI.
