Recommended Hardware configuration

Here is XIMEA tested hardware configuration that works.

Our internal tests were run on this setup with Win7 x64 OS:

Motherboard : GIGABYTE MB Sc LGA1150 G1.SniperM5, Intel Z87
Memory : 8GB 1866MHz DDR3
Processor : Intel® Core™ i5-4670, 3.4GHz, 6MB, Soc1150

Other configuration examples:

Mainboard : P8Z77-M PRO
CPU : Intel® Core™ i7-3770, 3.4GHz, 8MB, Soc1155, VGA, Box
RAM : 2x4GB (Corsair CMP8GX3M2A1600C9) IOI EPCIE4XRDCA01 V1.2 at slot PCIe-Graph
Top Frame-rate : 30.4 FPS, CB200xG-CM, 20MP RAW 12bit

Note: Newer configurations, based on Intel chipsets from the Haswell, Broadwell or Skylake generation are likely to be compatible as well, but have not been tested completely by XIMEA yet.

Power supplying options

There is a possibility to supply power to camera directly from PC without the need to use power supply.
If you have a Firewire connector on your PC motherboard, you can use one of these Firewire=>12V cables:

http://www.macfixit.com.au/firewire-800-to-12-volt-power-cable.html

If you don’t - you can install a Firewire Adapter Card and again use the same cable.
Alternatively you can search for a similar cable for eSata – they should also have 12V on the connector (pin12-13)
