sCMOS cameras Cooling performance

The scientific grade sCMOS cameras from XIMEA are equipped with a USB3 interface and Thermoelectric Peltier cooler module.
Below are the measurements for different models made under various conditions.

STD: standard
HDR: high dynamic range
CMS: correlated multiple sampling
In CMS mode, the reset and pixel output are sampled multiple times and summed up for pixel-related noise suppression.

MJ042 model with GSENSE2020BSI

Cooling measurements:

Mode name Gain Ambient Temp. [°C] Exposure [μs] Minimum Temp. [°C] Accuracy [°C] Maximum Power consumption [W]
HDR, CMS2, STD HiGain, LoGain 22 500μs -14 0.2 19
HDR, CMS2, STD HiGain, LoGain 22 5s -18 0.04 18
HDR, CMS2, STD HiGain, LoGain 33 500μs 2 0.33 18
HDR, CMS2, STD HiGain, LoGain 33 5s -4 0.05 17

Note1: accuracy was measured as max - min recorded temperature for 10 min. period.
As it was not measured with an independent thermometer, these values show only control loop deviations.
Note3: Power consumption is the maximum power value recorded during the measurement procedure for a selected mode.
Note4: All values have been measured on Technical Sample. They are typical and not guaranteed.

MJ150 model with GSENSE5130

Cooling measurements:

Mode name Gain Ambient Temp. [°C] Exposure [μs] Minimum Temp. [°C] Accuracy [°C] Maximum Power consumption [W]
HDR, CMS2-S, CMS2-A, CMS44-S HiGain, LoGain 20 500μs, 5s -16 0.17 28
HDR, CMS2-S, CMS2-A, CMS44-S HiGain, LoGain 33 500μs, 5s 16 0.07 28

Note1: All values have been measured on Technical Sample. They are typical and not guaranteed.
Note2: accuracy was measured as max - min recorded temperature for 10 min. period.
As it was not measured with an independent thermometer, these values show only control loop deviations.
Note3: Power consumption is the maximal power value recorded during the measurement procedure for a selected mode.
Note4: min_temp for ambient 33°C shows quite high values +16°C.
This is value reachable by a standard cooling procedure. When using a special approach on the application level, lower temperatures can be achieved.

MX377 model with GSENSE6060

Cooling measurements:

Modes Ambient Temp. [°C] Exposure [ms] Minimum Temp. [°C] Accuracy [°C] Maximum Power consumption [W]
STD, CMS2, CMS4, HDR, CMS-HDR, 12 and 14 bit, Low, High and HL gain 20 0,005 -2 0.1 67
STD, CMS2, CMS4, HDR, CMS-HDR, 12 and 14 bit, Low, High and HL gain 20 5000 -14 0.11 66

Note 1: Max cooling/heating slope is limited by the internal regulator to 7.5°C/minute. When outer housing is overheated above 48°C, cooling is switched off and the temperature is ramped up with this limited rate. This has to protect the sensor from thermal shocks. So in the case of overheating, don't disconnect the power supply and let the camera reach equilibrium between sensor and housing.
Note 2: All values have been measured on Technical Sample. They are typical and not guaranteed. Details about Accuracy and Precision
