What is xiMU?

Engineered for the smallest possible volume and weight, made with an advanced high-density manufacturing and assembly process. The xiMU cameras are the smallest cameras in our portfolio and even in the world of industrial cameras.
All of the latest models come with a USB3 interface (USB-C, flex or micro coax cables) to support the full potential of sensor bandwidth and ensure simplicity of use. All this together with less than 5 grams weight and less than 1 watt power consumption, makes them also ideal for a plethora of embedded, mobile, and space-restricted applications, such as UAVs.

Frame rate indicates the maximum achievable speed for full frame readout. The real performance will be affected by the USB controller, number and type of USB devices attached to this controller, system processor and memory speed and configuration.

XIMEA model names are made up of short codes that describe key characteristics of a camera. The example below (MU003TG-SY-UC) shows how a typical name is put together, and the table explains the codes used in this camera family. It is meant as a quick guide: individual models may deviate, so the datasheet remains the binding reference.
