How to make monitor show picture on WES2009 when it is black

Applies to

  • CURRERA-R with WES2009 installed with Intel driver

Symptoms

Monitor connected to CURRERA-R shows only black picture after booting logo (Windows XP) is displayed.

Causes

This problem is caused by a feature of display driver which is supposed to save energy when no monitor was connected in previous boot.
This happens when no monitor is connected and user commits the EWF.
It can be also caused by interrupting of power when EWF is disabled or while committing changes.

Resolution

It is possible to solve this problem by either using Remote Desktop from another PC or using connected keyboard and mouse directly on the CURRERA-R.

Using Remote Desktop

When CURRERA-R does not have keyboard and mouse connected:
  • Connect the monitor to CURRERA-R
  • Turn on the CURRERA-R
  • Start Network Camera Finder on other PC connected to the same network
  • Select the CURRERA-R that has no picture
  • Open SSD Control Tool
  • Select Commit
  • Wait until system is restarted
Now the monitor should show the picture of WES2009 desktop.

Using keyboard and mouse

When CURRERA-R has keyboard connected - it is possible to use following resolution:
  • Connect the monitor to CURRERA-R
  • Turn on the CURRERA-R
  • Press F8 while first logo is displayed - before booting of Operation System
  • Select Enable VGA mode and press Enter
  • Wait until system shows the desktop on the monitor (limited resolution will be used now)
  • Open SSD Control Tool
  • Select Commit
  • Wait until system is restarted
Now the monitor should show the picture of WES2009 desktop.
